I just went to a doctor and got diagnosed with shingles...?

I already finished taking the tablets but still am using the cream and body wash. I was wondering, because i am only 11yrs old, how did I get it? I mean it supposed to happen after a lot of stress like working day and night in an office which i obviously don't. AND how do I stop the itching? Any home remedies? I mean the cream doesn't do anything at all except heal it i guess..I am asking: Why does it happen to 11yr olds? How to stop the itching with home remedies?
