327 chevy are 460 ford?

Hi I have a 1963 F-100 step side it has a 460 ford just rebuilt the C-6 trans shift kit high tourq - cconvertar I riped my other drive shaft in half so I had a 1 ton drive shaft made. My rear end hase 4.10 in it, its fun to drive but it sucks gas. My brother said I should just work on the 460 like electric cooling fan, better distributors ,better carb overdrive trans. I Have a 327 chevy block is all done honed and 30 over just put the part together with a TKO 600 trans.
