How can I listen to music while skiing or sled skiing?

I have a ipod and in ear headphones, but I am scared that if i fall over I will damage the ipod or the headphones. The ipod is an iVideo. I have had it for about 5 years. Am I just paranoid or wont it get damged? Its an indoor snowdome.
